Are you using IPV6? no
Is the issue reproducible? yes
This has been happening since several versions ago but when downloading it will slow down and then just stop. The only way I can get it to start again is to do a Queue Repair. Just stopping and starting it again doesn't help. I'm not entirely sure what that does but it works. Any ideas?

Re: sabnzbd stops downloading after 1-2 minutes
Look for error messages in the log, especially the word "trace".
Do you have any schedules?
Is there enough room on the hard disk?
Set the option Config->Special->folder_max_length to 32, to avoid oversized file names.

Re: sabnzbd stops downloading after 1-2 minutes
I see nothing about "trace". I've tried changing the no_penalties to 1 but it didn't change anything noticeable.
No schedules.
over 100GB available
If I look about 2 min after the speeds drop to 0, I see this
So it looks like my connections are just timing out after finishing downloading that piece of the file. Shouldn't SABnzbd be requesting the next file chunk? Once it does that (exactly 4 minutes after timing out) everything is back to normal for another couple of minutes until those pieces are done downloading again.

Are you sure the port number should be 5563?
Make sure you don't make the server time out too small in Config->Servers.
It should be least 60 sec or more.
Some servers work with lower times, but not all.
Also check your number of retries in Config->Switches, it should at least 3.

Yes, Frugalusenet can use 563 or 5563 for HTTPS (http://frugalusenet.com/faq.html). Timeout is 240 sec and maximum retries is 5.
I use HTTPS because, in theory, it's more secure and doesn't let my ISP know what I'm doing.

Re: sabnzbd stops downloading after 1-2 minutes
To be more clear about what I meant here, when SABnzbd does attempt to reconnect (exactly 4 minutes after it times out), everything connects again and is downloading at good speeds. Can I change how long it waits after timeouts like that? Is SAB or the usenet provider causing the timeout?justin0469 wrote:

Re: sabnzbd stops downloading after 1-2 minutes
Hard to tell. I have no experience with frugalusenet.
The fact that it times out often is odd, the major providers rarely do that.

frugal = usenetnow = blocknews (server ips all in the same /24)shypike wrote:Hard to tell. I have no experience with frugalusenet.

240 seconds is a bit over the top. It is actually 4 minutesjustin0469 wrote:Timeout is 240 sec and maximum retries is 5.
I think you should reduce it to 60 seconds.

Re: sabnzbd stops downloading after 1-2 minutes
OK, I'll take it down to 60 and see what happens.
