Extract/Unpack RAR files

Post by madman236 »

Hi All,

I downloaded a bluray film which is 41GB. I found that this dowloaded folder contains multiple .rar files. Is there a program I can use to unpack/extract these .rar files into a single playable media file? e.g. a .mkv or .avi file?

I have downloaded said file via my Synology NAS DS213+ and I know SABNZBD would normally unpack it but I am having trouble setting it up to access on my NAS. (see previous post)

Is there a program I can install onto my NAS that could unpack/extract the .rar files?

Thanks

It's the program that you should already have installed: unrar

Hi again

Sorry but where can I download that from? Can I install this onto my nas or would I have to install it on my mac and download the entire file to it before attempting to unpack?

Thanks

You'll have to look for that on the Synology forums.
Did you install SABnzbd as a ready-made package?
If so, it should include the unrar program.
An alternative is to copy all RAR files to a Windows PC and use WinRAR for the extraction.
