RAR Files are downloaded into the compete folder

Post by aoommen »

Hi There - this is my first post on this forum.

Been using SAB for quite sometime now (over a year) and it works well 99% of the time. The rest 1% has the issue where the download completes and I get a file in the complete directory - but that folder contains a RAR file and when I try to open/extract it gives me an error. I have tried WinZip and 7-Zip, but the same result on both.

I am wondering whether RAR files in the complete folder is normal - without unpacking or repairing. I have never seen this. I t has always been a container format for videos (.mkv,.avi etc) never a RAR file. Also why is that file not extractable.

I can post logs or the files itself if anyone wants. Trying to find out what is causing this, any and all help is greatly appreciated.

here are a few screen shots

Probably stray data in the NZB.
Is the rest of the post OK?

Thank You for responding shypike. Not sure what you meant by "rest of the post" - it is a video file I am trying to download - but all I get is an non-extractable RAR file. Any way to fix it or is this a bad nzb?

If the NZB contained par2 files that verified properly and the RAR still fails,
it's pretty certain that the poster screwed up.
