Deleting file error

Post by kevindd992002 »

This is the first time I've encountered these errors:

2013-01-26 12:41:49,063 WARNING: Deleting Y:\raw...Uncut.part01.rar failed!

EDIT: removed. Read http://forums.sabnzbd.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=41

What's wrong?

Your virus scanner still scanning the file?

How can I be sure about that?

Not, but neither can I.
If it doesn't happen again (or very rarely), it's probably the virus scanner
or the operating system doing its indexing.

Now I get this 2013-02-15 22:21:06,947 ERROR: Loading Y:\raw\It.Ralph.2012.720p.BluRay.x264-SPARKS\__ADMIN__\SABnzbd_nzo_u8ci1k failed .

What I'm thinking is that because my Y: drive is a network drive. I setup SAB to save to a network drive. But the thing is I'm 100% sure that I never lose connectivity to that NAS server so why does SAB sometimes have these loading and deleting file errors?

I had newsleecher setup the same way before and it never had problems.

Not sure.
In any case we do not recommend using remote drives for temporary storage,
if only because of the performance penalty.

But my network is a gigabit network so no worries on that. Can you have optimizations for this kind of setup? I fear that there's something wrong with your code for this network setup?

There's nothing wrong with the code.
Only it's written on the assumption that the storage is fully reliable,
which is true for local storage.

But why don't I experience these problems with newsleecher?

Different design. Possibly newsleecher stores it admin locally anyway.

What do you mean admin locally?

The error you see is about writing SABnzbd's job bookkeeping to disk.
We choose to store it in the temp folder, that's why we insist on using local storage for that.

So even though my directory is in a network, the job bookkeeping is still in my local temp folder? I have no choice but to use my network storage because that is a NAS storage served for that sole purpose.

No, the bookkeeping is in the temp download folder that you chose to put on the NAS.
There is a tiny little bit of bookkeeping in the local profile too.
Do you have so little local storage that you need the NAS to hold the
temporary download folder?

Ah ok. No, I have a 1.5TB storage for my local storage but my NAS is 12TB and all movie files are stored there because they are accessed by my other media players in the network (several of them). So why not directly download there. The thing is that most of the time I have problems and sometimes I experience those. I'm trying to eliminate those "sometimes"?
