I add two movie downloads from CP to SAB. They both start at checking status because I have pre-check enabled. When the pre-check of the 1st movie is successful, it starts to download it but then the 2nd movie is stuck at "checking" status. Does SAB actually need to finish first the 1st movie download before actually doing a pre-check on the 2nd movie?
Is this normal? THanks.

Re: 2nd download stuck at "checking" status
Yes it does, because the same connections are used for checking.
You're probably are better of using the "Abort jobs that cannot be completed" option in Config->Switches.
Unless you on a very tight quota or are using a Usenet block account.

Re: 2nd download stuck at "checking" status
Well, that option is also checked together with pre-check. Will they work at the same time then?
Re: 2nd download stuck at "checking" status
Yes, both will work independently.
However when pre-check approves, it's not very likely that "abort" will actually abort the job.
There's one exception: when the provider has replaced articles with "takedown notification" articles, as some do.
Then "Abort" will still be useful, while pre-check will fail to see a problem.

Re: 2nd download stuck at "checking" status
Ok then. Which of these two will SAB do first anyway? Abort or pre-check?
Re: 2nd download stuck at "checking" status
It's called "Check before download" for a reason.
The "Abort" option is active during the download.
So pre-check first, then download with possible abort.

Ok. What error message should I expect when my usenet server has takedown the articles?shypike wrote:It's called "Check before download" for a reason.

None but the usual "out of retention", "cannot repair" etc.kevindd992002 wrote: Ok. What error message should I expect when my usenet server has takedown the articles?
The download report will contain how may articles were "removed", which indicates that a "takedown" article was substituted.
(The other terms are "missing" and "malformed".)
If the provider just removes everything, there's no difference with "out of retention".

Ok. Usually, is a usenet server really really fast in taking down a certain episode of a tv series? I mean, as soon as it is available in usenet they will take it down immediately?shypike wrote:None but the usual "out of retention", "cannot repair" etc.kevindd992002 wrote: Ok. I just noticed that in my dad's sab, he got s01e10 of the tv series arrow based on his history. When I tried downloading it now, it seems to be not available. We use the same usenet account in the same server.
