Logfile entry: your account might be split

Post by tiefrot »

Hello
and thank you for helping in advance. I use SABnzbdplus on my NAS (qnap 419II). I have less than 50% of my download speed since several days (570 KB/s instead of 1,2 MB/s). I checked my internet-connection and asked my provider. Nothing changed and der there are no errors found. I checked my router: 1,2-1,3 MB/s download should work. I changed my splitter (just in case): no change to the better.
My sabnzbd log-file sais: You account might be split ("Möglicherweise wird das Konto geteilt"). I only use the sabnzbd on my NAS (no 2nd machine should use the account). I changed the password, but it didn't help.
I do not use news feeds, just the standard settings.

Does anyone know what else I can do?

Best Regards,
Marcus.

PS: Please be gentle with me. sabnzbd is only a hobby. I neither studied informatics nor work in the IT. ;)

The report means that your Usenet provider thinks that a user
with another IP address is using your account.
That's called "sharing" and it is not allowed by most providers.
SABnzbd itself cannot trigger this detection, because all the systems in your
house have the same external IP address.
So there are a few possible causes:
- Someone else uses your account
- Your internet provider often changes your IP, faster than your Usenet provider allows
- You're using too many connections and your Usenet provider sends an incorrect message

I recommend that you change your Usenet password as soon as possible.

Hi,
Unfortunately, my problem persists ...to be more precise it came back. IN the meantime the download raised up to 1,2 MB/s again, now its down again to 500 KB/s the astraweb-support recommands to try out another newsreader. I never had trouble with SABNZBD in the past years, so I don't think this is the issue. I checked my internet-connection again. Everything is fine.
I'm a bit at a loss. Whats another good and easy newsreader to proof this issue - only for testing? Are there any tools to check on sabnzbd on QUNAP?

Best Regards, Marcus.

For Windows there's always Grabit.
Simple and usually reliable.
Having said that, my personal experience with astraweb isn't very good.
What helps with Astraweb is to disable the option "disconnect on empty queue"
in Config->Switches.
This will let Astraweb take the initiative to break connections.
