Sabnzb needs a free tcp/ip port

Post by ashman70 »

Out of nowhere today Sabnbz refused to work on my Mac, it had been working fine all day, I did not install anything new, nothing changed on my Mac, just Sabnzb stopped working. It claims the port it needs for its web server is in use, by what, I have no idea. I have restarted my Mac several times, I have even changed my internal IP address, Sabnzb tried to start now but fails with the same error message referencing my old internal IP address. I have upgraded to the latest version, still nothing works. I am running Mountain Lion 10.8.2, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I am using the terminal command and no matter what port I try it doesnt work, even if I change my IP what is going on? I have downgraded to an older version and I get the same results?

Thanks

Thanks very much that did fix it, but can you shed any light as to why it happened in the first place? Did I do something wrong? I don't want to repeat whatever it was I did.

Thank you!

Possibly you had used a numerical IP and your router assigned your system another IP.
Sometimes DNS issues cause this.
Normally either 0.0.0.0 or an empty hostname should work, assuming DNS
doesn't work against SABnzbd finding out what the system's IP is.
