Catagories won't work

Post by sparker366 »

I have tried several things but can't get categories to work. I have set them up like thus and this is my queue

Categories: https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B1auF6 ... m1QRmd2cXM
Queue: https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B1auF6 ... nhuOFFVd0U

This download should have been put in my pron category but it went to default. I have no idea what is going on. I looked at the raw nzb file to make sure I have the correct category and I do.

I have also put the category folders in my watched folder. Downloaded the nzb to that folder and it still won't work either. I have rebooted restarted sab every time I make a change and it won't work. This is getting frustrating.

What can I do to get this to work? I have searched on the forums here and found a few things but they haven't worked.

Categories work a bit different that you think.
There has to be a source for category selection, which is one of:
- Your manual selection
- A category sent by an indexer (if supported by SABnzbd), matched in the "indexer" column.
This is no longer possible after the demise of newzbin and nzbmatrix.
- Category info coming from an RSS feed (if supported by SABnzbd), matched in the "indexer" column.
- A specific filter on an RSS feed in SABnzbd

If you're feeding SABnzbd downloaded NZB files, it cannot determine a category
because there is no category info in the NZB.

The only useful info in an NZB is the Usenet group.
So you can try to put one or more Usenet groups in the "Indexer" column of Categories.

Thanks for the reply. I did state that I looked at a few nzb's and there is a category field in there and it is the same as what I am downloading. I just grabbed an nzb and this is what I saw

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE nzb PUBLIC "-//newzBin//DTD NZB 1.1//EN" "http://www.newzbin.com/DTD/nzb/nzb-1.1.dtd">
<nzb xmlns="http://www.newzbin.com/DTD/2003/nzb">

<head>
<meta type="category">Movies > BluRay</meta>
<meta type="name">2359 pch .... some movie name ... 1994 BluRay 720p PCH Team</meta>
</head>

Why can't SAB parse that line and do the categories? Why is it relegated to RSS feeds. I looked at about 10 nzbs that I downloaded and they all had that category field in them.

Now rss feeds are slow for me I like instant feeding lol but guess I need to wait for them to load. But if that is what I must do at this time I guess I will have to deal with it. But I do have issues with going to the rss feed section and selecting reed feed. It won't pull it for some reason not sure if that is on my end or the sites end.

Because hardly any indexer supports categories inside NZBs, we haven't built-in support for it yet.
From which indexer do these files come?

They come from NZBs.in. Its a very nice site. Bit slow at times due to server load but it has good quality.

Support was already planned and prepared, I'll move it forward to the next release.

So does that mean the next release will support pulling the categories from the nzb? That is cool. Thanks for the help.
