Hello everyone. So I have been using SAB, SB, CP, and HP for quite some time now, and previously had them running on a Hyper-V VM running Windows Server 2008R2. Since I am rebuilding my entire domain at home, I am trying to decide what the optimal setup would be for my situation.
With a full rebuild of everything that I run, my Windows Server boxes are being upgraded to Server 2012 Standard. (I have two Hyper-V hosts, each with 8 vCPUs and 32GB of RAM) Previously, I ran a lot of applications that ran in the user context, meaning that VM had to stay logged in...and I did so by setting up auto-login. I don't want to do that anymore, so I am setting up everything to run as a service. I have already taken care of uTorrent, SubSonic, Serviio, bliss, UniFi Controller software, and my webserver...and now I am focusing on my Usenet stuff. I use a combination of SrvAny and NSSM to run applications as a service, and I assume either will be fine with SAB/SB/CP/HP. If not, what is the best way to run these four apps (or just SAB, since this is a SAB forum) as a service?
Secondly, on my previous installation I created a 250GB VHD that my VM used. All downloads were local to the VM, and once extracted and renamed they were moved to the appropriate folders on my NUS (Network Unified Storage--file level[SMB/CIFS] AND block level [iSCSI]). I did something similar to my uTorrent server previously as well. This time, for my uTorrent box I spun up a VM on a 20GB VHD, and created a 250GB iSCSI LUN just for uTorrent to download to, and it works great.
Now with wanting to run these applications as a service, mapped drives won't work. My options are to either use an iSCSI LUN, or UNC paths. Do SAB/SB/CP/HP all play nice with UNC paths? If so, I will definitely use that...if not I will just create a 100-250GB iSCSI LUN for them, which should be plenty big.
Thoughts? Suggestions?

Use Test Server in Config > Servers.
