I'm not sure if this is a known bug, but I reproduced it today two times in a row.
I configured sabnzbd to observe a directory. This directory is exported via SAMBA, so that I can put NZB files into the queue without login into the server. I was looking for NZB files on nzbsearch.net and downloaded it directly from the browser into the observed directory. As usual after a second or so, the file was gone, but it never showed up in the queue.
After that I downloaded the file into a local directory, and copied it from there into the nzb directory. After the file was gone it showed up in the queue as expected.
I don't know if this is a known bug, so I wanted to ask first and if this is indeed an unknown bug, I can file a bug report. If this is a known issue that's also fine, as I know how to work around it.
My assumption is, that maybe firefox creates the file as soon as it starts downloading, sabnzbd alredy sees the file while it's not finished downloading and sabnzbd discards it silently considering it being corrupted or empty. If this is a case maybe this would be a solution: If sabnzbd reads the file and it is corrupted or something wrong with it, it could leave the file untouched and create an additional file with the same name.log giving some error message, so that the user knows when he looks into the directory that there is something wrong with that file. sabnzbd could then ignore such files, as long as the *.log file exists as well.
Files downloaded via Firefox are not taken into the queue

Nobody has seen this before?
Re: Files downloaded via Firefox are not taken into the queu
I've seen this odd behaviour mostly when a third-party addon to Firefox (like nzbdStatus) isn't configured properly.
Other than that, SABnzbd takes several precautions against incomplete files.
Generally, it doesn't delete files unless it accepts them in the queue.
Set logging to "Debug" level on the Status page, put an NZB in the folder and afterwards
look what is logged. The log may look a bit like gibberish but it's not hard to follow.

I don't have any add ons related to sabnzbd, only Download Helper and adblocker.
OK, next time I download, I will look at the log and see what it say.
