Sab with Sickbeard and CouchPotato

Post by kevindd992002 »

It seems that all of my downloads from SB and CP using SAB aren't seen by people in my network? I share the "movies" and "tv" folder across my network and they just won't see the files. But when I manually download a movie or a tv series, this problem does not occur. Does this have to do something with file permissions or something? Please help.

On which type of operating system does SABnzbd run?
On most non-Windows systems you need to set permissions in Config->Folders.
Click Help there for an explanation.

Oh sorry about that, I'm on Windows 7 x64 and I think the permissions you are talking about are only for non-Windows systems. I just read this: http://forums.sabnzbd.org/viewtopic.php?t=10232 and tried his solution where I added "Everyone" object on the folder where sab is downloading the files and everything went well. Is this behavior normal then?

If it's Windows you'll have to set access rights properly for the base folder ("Completed Download Folder") once.
On Windows, newly created subfolders will inherit access rights.
Check access right for your base folders for each category as well.

Well, the thing is earlier (when I had this problem) my completed folder has correct permissions. My incomplete folder isn't so when Sab transferred the completed files to the completed folder then the permissions are incorrect because they were inherited from the incomplete folder?

Not sure, Windows access right are sometimes just weird.
It may help to make rights if "incomplete" match those of "complete".

Weird. The permissions are copied for movies downloaded by couchpotato but with sickbeard there seems to be a problem? The object Everyone is reflected over the mkv file of my episode files but it is copied over the nfo/srr files associated with that mkv? That means that when sickbeard post-processes the mkv files, the permissions get messed up. Is this normal?

You would have to ask that on SickBeard's forum.
