Hi all,
I am all new to sabnzbd and also all new when it comes to NAS.
I installed sabnzbd on my NAS today. Everything went smoothly and I was also able to start my first download from my usenet provider (giganews).
Unfortunately I couldn't find an answer in the FAQs nor through the forum search.
I am wondering now if my download via sabnzbd is secured since it doesn't run through Windows anymore. In Windows I had the Giganews Accelerator installed which showed my that my download is going through a secure connection (SSL).
Can I check this within sabnzbd somewhere?
Of course I checked the "activate HTTPS" button in the settings and also I checked the SSL button in the server settings where I can enter my usenet provider credentials.
Is that it? Am I secure?
Thank you.
Greets
JJ

Re: Is my download secure? Through SSL?
What do you mean by "secure"?
1) With SSL activated at the newsserver setting, an outsider / ISP / government / employer / network admin can't see what you're downloading, but he can see you're downloading from a newsserver.
2) with SSL activated at the newsserver setting, someone else can't alter your traffic
If that's secure by your definitions, you're safe.

Hi Sander,
Thank you for taking you time.
Yes, that's what I wanted to read. But I can't check somewhere if I am going trough an SSL connection or an open connection within sabnzbd's web interface, or can I?
Have a great weekend.
