Changing the Default Base Folder on a Mac

Post by poli005 »

I have searched through this forum and just could not find an answer to my specific problem, so here goes my first post.

My current Default Base Folder is : /Users/X (Which is on my solid state hard drive "SSD". However I am running 2 hard drives on my macbook and have a hard drive named "MEH" where, in an older version of sabnzdb I used to store my files in MEH/Done, MEH/Incomplete. What do I need to do, exactly, to change my Default Base folder from /Users/X to /MEH?

You can only change it when you start up the app with a parameter,
which isn't very practical for OSX.
Isn't it enough to move "complete" and "incomplete"?
The rest uses up very little disk space.

How do I change complete and incomplete to go to my other hard drive. Whenever I try to change the destination, it just sticks whatever I put into the parameters for those folders inside my default area. I just need it to be on my larger hard drive.

On an OSX system, drives aren't called /MEH.
They're normally called something like /Volumes/MEH.
Make sure the drive is mounted BEFORE SABnzbd is started.

If I try to put it into Volumes/MEH, it puts it into my SSD/User/Volumes/MEH folder, rather than my hard drive. Everything worked perfectly fine with the old version.

So there is not way to change it?

The only reason SABnzbd will change paths is when they are not visible
or not accessible. That behaviour han't changed.
From what you're describing, I cannot determine what's going on with your system.
Which SABnzbd version did work for you?
