This is not a complaint, just a query for information.
I've noticed the completion check can take a really long time. I don't mind, but I was curious why this is. I am also aware that this is a relatively new feature, and is still being tweaked.
Thanks so much for taking the time to read.
Curious about Completion check

It's completely determined by the response time of
your Usenet provider.

How long does a pre-check take? And how long the actual download?tymanthius wrote:This is not a complaint, just a query for information.

Further questions: what is your max usenet download speed, and how many connections have you defined?

I haven't actually timed it, but a pre-check can take nearly as long as the download, at least when there are more than 1 items in the que.
Sab tells me I get usually get 2.0MB/s. Sometimes drops to 1.5, occasionally goes to 2.2. But 2.0 I can count on.
I have 15 connections defined.
If you want, I can load a single nzb & actively watch how long it takes to precheck, or if the logs will give me time stamps, I'd be willing to check that.
I don't really care how long it takes, as I just let it do it's thing in the background, then go watch my tv shows once they show up in my Plex list. But I'd noticed, and it made me curious.

Re: Curious about Completion check
So I finally got around to downloading a single nzb all by itself. Completion check finished in about 2 minutes for a large movie file.
So, to me, it seems the 'long' completion checks are just waiting on threads to be free and/or using a minimum number of threads while active downloads get the bulk of them.
Works for me.
Thanks for the info.
