Since a few weeks I get failed connection on all different newsreaders I try. I tried Eweka, ziggo, knp and newsgrabber. Also withouth username and password.
I tried disabeling the firewall and opening port 119 and 8000 (for sabnzbd) on my router. Nothing works.
Sometimes after resetting the router (so sometimes it does not work) sabnzbd connects and downloads for a few hours at top speed and then stops for no apparent reason.
My pc is behind a router which serves as a bridge from another router (to amplify wifi in our house). Also my pc has no wireless so I'm wired to the bridge. Both are the same routers: TP-Link TL-WR1043N. On my laptop connected to the main router it works fine (wireles), on my laptop connected to the brigde (wireles)... same problem as with my desktop, can't connect. Noteworthy maybe: laptop runs on Mac OSX, pc on windows 7.
Funny thing is that is has been working for weeks, and now it stopped working... I have no idea why...
Does anyone have a suggestion on how to fix this because I can't seem to come up with more ideas :-(. Thanks!

The firewall should not be a factor, because Usenet traffic is initiated from the computer.
The firewall is important if you want to expose SABnzbd's Web-UI to the outside world.
I suggest that you first test with a minimal connection, so with an ethernet cable from
the laptop to the router that's connected to internet.
Given the fact that SABnzbd can saturate any network connection, it can very well
overwhelm lesser routers, especially WiFi is sensitive because the actual bandwidth
is always much less than advertised.
An alternative would be to set a speed limit in Config->General.

As I mentioned this only works when the laptop is connected to the main router, the one connected to the modem. When I use the bridged router it all fails :-(. So it has probably something to do with this router set up as bridge.shypike wrote:I suggest that you first test with a minimal connection, so with an ethernet cable from

Also tried this, makes no difference.shypike wrote:An alternative would be to set a speed limit in Config->General.

Exactly: a network problem. So not a SAB problem.timvancann wrote:shypike wrote: As I mentioned this only works when the laptop is connected to the main router, the one connected to the modem. Advice: update your network. If that doesn't help, use the setup that works flawlessly.
