Double download queuing

Post by sabex »

Version: 0.7.3 Final
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64
Install-type: Windows Installer
Is the issue reproducible? Yes
Browser: FireFox + nzbStatus 2.0b5
Tags: Double; queuing; queue; multiple downloads; nzb; nzbs; dupe; duplicate

Problem: When opening an NZB from FireFox where it prompts to Open/Save As, if I choose SABnzb+ as my default, the NZB makes it to the client successfully, but doing so twice. If I disable nzbStatus from FireFox, the open file dialog properly loads the NZB once. If I cancel the Open/Save As dialog, nothing goes to the queue. If I open an NZB from my local HDD, everything works fine.

As for the integrated "Send to SAB" button, that works wonderfully. The NZB quietly goes to my server without any prompts of asking where to save. Unfortunately, I can't always send NZBs to the server that way.

I have heard that duplication detection may work, but I'd rather it not download the NZBs twice. What's odd is I've been using SABnzb+ and the nzbStatus extension for countless months without ever having this problem. This seems to have only become a problem since upgrading to a newer version which I can't recall specifically which. Is there anything I can try without having to reinstall SAB? I'd like to keep all my customized settings and whatnot. The issue is definitely tied to the nzbStatus add-on though.

Thanks for your attention. O0

Associating NZB files with SABnzbd and using nzbStatus at the same time spells trouble.
This has noting to do with SABnbd itself but with the combo of Firefox and nzbStatus.
You can disconnect ".nzb" from SABnzbd by uninstalling SABnzbd and re-installing it.
Be careful NOT to select "remove settings"!
After that re-install without the ".nzb" association.

Thanks for the fast response! I followed your steps verbatim, but the issue still persists. :(

I want to note that SABnzbd+ has always been my default NZB association so it makes me wonder why this would just start happening out of the blue like this. In the past it used to work fine. I would have the Open/Save As dialog box and I would just hit OK to open the NZB with SAB (default).

I'm going to research file associations and how they are managed in the Windows 7 registry. Maybe there's a good way to clean potentially corrupt NZB associations...

Try 'assoc' and 'ftype' in a command prompt.
