Too many connections to server?

Post by kiet »

sabnzbd had been working fine all day now I am getting this error: Too many connections to server secure.us.thundernews.com:563

And nothing will download for me. All it says is "Waiting"

What does it mean, and how do I go about resolving the issue?

"Too many connections to server secure.us.thundernews.com:563" means that the news server secure.us.thundernews.com is saying it's getting too many connections from your system or the account you're using.

So:
- lower the number of threads / connections. What is the current number set in SABnzbd?
- do not share your account with others
- stop other NZB downloading programs using the same account

If that does not work, stop SABnzbd completely, wait 10 minutes to time-out half-hanging sessions, and start SABnzbd.

Some servers keep bad account of their connections.
For these it may help to set the option "Disconnect on Empty Queue" in Config->Switches off.

How do I check/change the number of threads or connections? This acct is only being used on one computer. The option "Disconnect on empty queue" is already set.

In Config -> Server: 'connections'. What have you filled out there?

It says 80.

What should I put it at? I shut down SABnzbd for awhile and now it's working. Will changing the amount of connections help this issue in the future?

LOL!

I would say: start with 5.

If that works, you can higher it to 8 and see it that makes it faster. If not, just use 5 or so.
