problems with xsusenet (free) since update from 0.6.15

i encountered the following problem with sabnzbd since the update from 0.6.15 to any 0.7.x version:

download from free.xsusenet.com is no longer possible. when i start sabnzbd it seems to connect to the server and the download speed raises up to the maximum, but with every gui update (4 seconds) the download speed decreases by 50 % until it reaches 0.
the strange thing about this is, that everything works fine with xennews free account (2 days/10gb).

after 2 evenings of trying sabnzbd version 0.7.1, 0.7.2 and 0.7.3, checking the firewall settings, ... i tried to reproduce this by installing nntpgrab 0.7.2. after configuring nntpgrab (same server settings like sabnzbd) i added a the same nzb file that i added to sabnzbd before.
nntpgrab starts downloading and didn't stop until now, so everything works fine.
sabnzbd works with xennews, but doesn't work with xsusenet.

No problems here with free.xsusenet.com on SAB 0.7.3.

But ... do you know the retention of free.xsusenet.com was reduced to about 10 days? So ... how old is your post?

And: what happens when you press on Test Server in Config -> Server?

I'm downloading a 1 day old post from xsusenet.com without problems at 128 kBps

i just deinstalled 0.7.3 and reinstalled 0.6.15 and now everything works fine with xsusenet.

i'm going to update to 0.7.3 again...

same problem as before, 0.7.3 doesn't work...

i forgot to tell you something, which could be also interesting for you.
this strange behaviour is only on one of my 2 pc's and the only difference between them is - as far as i can remember, the updated versions.
updates on the pc where sabnzbd 0.7.2 (yes, it is 0.7.2) works fine: 0.6.15 -> 0.7.0 -> 0.7.1 -> 0.7.2
updates on the pc where sabnzbd 0.7.1,0.7.2 and 0.7.3 doesn't work: 0.6.15(ok) -> 0.7.3(nok) -> 0.7.2(nok) -> 0.7.1 (nok) -> 0.6.15 half an hour ago (ok) and now 0.7.3 (nok)

hi again, guys

i checked the firewall again and i'm 100% sure that the firewall can't be the problem, but i couldn't find a solution for the problem with all 0.7.x versions and xsusenet until now.
I haven't got enough time tonight and for the rest of the week, so i will try to find a solution within the next weekend.

for me, it looks like sabnzbd 0.7.x starts to download and immediatly pauses a download by itself.
i'm using 0.6.15 and it works fine.

To be 100% sure it's not the firewall, it's best to de-install and remove the firewall completely, reboot and then try SABnzbd again.

A firewall doesn't explain the difference between the versions.
Unless the firewall keeps signatures of the SABnzbd binaries.

Exactly. Otherwise a virus/trojan could name itself "COMMAND.EXE" or "MSWORD.EXE" and use the existing firewall rights ...
