Odd display issue

This just recently started happening, looking for some guidance as to how I might fix it.

Using sabnzbd 0.7.3 on mountain lion 10.8.1 in Safari 6.0

I have a bookmark on my Safari bookmark bar for my sanzbd that uses my external IP. Clicking on it now, of course brings up the exact page I have it set for, except, it now does not display the same information it used to. Here is a pic:



Now if I put in the internal IP of the machine using the rest of the same information this is what I get:



notice the appearance of the appearance of the download/status/rss/config tabs on the top left, as well as the other options on the top right. (EDIT: looks like the forum clipped the right part of the image, but the other buttons to add nab, etc. are there)

This at one point, not long ago, and still prior to upgrading to 10.8.1 (as near as I can recall) worked fine using my external IP, but for some reason simply stopped.

I am inclined to think it is something in Safari, as if I use Safari on a mobile device like iPhone or iPad and connect to the external IP those missing option are shown with that browser. Though if that were the case, I am not sure why it would work with the machines internal IP, but not the external as its still the same browser.

Anyhow, if anyone can add some insight, or offer some suggestions, it would be appreciated.

I cannot reproduce your problem at all.
Safari works OK for me on an iMac (10.8.1) and iPad.
Can you "save" the failing page and zip and email the result to bugs@sabnzbd.org?

Responding to your PM:
Java has nothing to do with it.
Despite their similar names, Java and Javascript have no relationship at all.
BTW: disable Java (but not Javascript) a.s.a.p. in your browser because of a very serious security issue.

One more question.
Does the problem only occur when you access SABnzbd from outside your local network?
Did you setup port redirection in your router?

Here is exact situation.

iMac: runs sabnzbd.

On that iMac, if I access sab in Safari via: https://10.0.1.191:7575/sabnzbd everything is displayed properly.
On the same machine, if I use my WAN IP in the same URL, I get the missing elements. IE: https://68.xxx.xxx.xxx:7575/sabnzbd the elements are missing.

Now, if say I go to my MBP connected to the same network via WiFi, and use my WAN IP in Safari, it is displayed properly.
If I use an iPad/iPhone on 3G and use the WAN IP to remotely access, it is displayed fine.

The issue is isolated to my iMac for some reason.

You'd expect it to work with the WAN-IP on the iMac.
However, it's is a bit convoluted to do it this way and possibly your router (or the iMac) doesn't understand the loop that is created.

What you could try is use a different port on the router than on the iMac.
So forward port (say) 8080 on the router to 7575 on the iMac.
Or if you're already doing that, use the same ports instead.

ok, I was waiting to see if something suggested would fix it, but, unfortunately it did not.
Without changing anything, I went and reset Safari, I excluded some items, and reset, the problem persisted.
I then checked a few more, but I think the relevant item was "remove all website data" once that was checked and reset Safari, it has returned to normal.

I purposely had waited to do this as a last resort, but hopefully it may lead to an answer of why it happened in the first place.

I have seen browser cache problems before, I just hadn't thought of if this time.
Actually, this should often be the first advice: clear browser cache.
