Continue a NZB file?

Post by Tzur »

So I tried to repair a botched file with another nzb and the file is exactly the same but the guy renamed the archives so it didn't work. I was unable to figure out the botched par files so I deleted the nzb file and tried to reload the original. Sab doesn't seem to recognize my par files and instead of loading whats been done in the other folder it makes a new one and downloads all over again.

So instead of checking and continuing on Folder 1 it will make Folder 1.1 and start all over. How do I force it to check my folder so I can fix my issue? Thank you.

A new NZB will result in a new job folder.
You will have to use the "Retry" option in History, where you "add" an NZB file.
Before adding the NZB, you can/should rename the existing files in the incomplete job folder to match the files in your new NZB.

So there is no way to add a new job and have it force check a folder? If so then that is a feature that should SERIOUSLY be added, at this point I have no trace of the NZB in history or anywhere other than my "temp" folder so it seems I wasted 60GB unless I want to rename over 4000 files manually.

Thanks anyways.

I'm not sure what your issue is exactly.
Force a recheck is just clicking Retry in History.
Is the item no longer in the History?
As long as it's there you can download additional files (use Download and not +Delete),
move the additional files into the "incomplete" job folder and click Retry.
Maybe I misunderstand your issue.

Yes, the history was cleared so all I had was the actual par/rar files in the in "temp" folder and nothing in SabNZB GUI. I did a "repair" on SabNZB and it brought back the nzb file in history for me to finish my download however. By repair I mean I went to Status - Queue Repair - Repair and it didn't bring back to my "original" nzb but it DID bring back the nzb with the "supplemental nzb" added that I had done to repair the botched download. From there I deleted all the content from the supplemental and was able to repair/find my failed archives and edit them for a manual extraction from the content of the supplemental nzb.

I dunno if this is possible but a option to load a nzb and have it check the folder it creates or manually select would be great. Think of it like torrent, you download a torrent from a site and then accidentally delete the .torrent from your list, you load the same .torrent up and it will "check" the contents before downloading/uploading again. Not sure if that's possible with usenet but to a uneducated fool like myself it seems like it could, looks even more so possible if you can "check" a file out before it downloads if it will succeed.
