Died after reboot

Post by grumblenz »

Hoping for some help. Last night I signed up for Usenet (Astraweb) and followed the Lifehacker/How to Geek posts on how to get up and running on Ubuntu 12.04. All great - worked a treat.
There seemed to be a memory loss going on and I lost control over the taskbars, so rebooted.
Now Chrome says "Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to localhost:8080"
The Chrome extnsion SABnzbd extension says "Could not connect to SABnzbd - Check it is running, the details in this plugin's settings are correct and that you are running at least SABnzbd version 0.5!"
SABnzbd and SABnzbd Drop settings URL = http://localhost:8080/sabnzbd (unchanged)
I ran Netstat - Port 139 is open.
Astraweb uses port 119
Have tried the /etc/init.d/sabnzbdplus and .sabnzbd/sabnzbd.ini files but am lost.
Tried uninstall/reinstall
Tried reboot again
STILL no joy.
Thanks in advance!!

For a start, just type "sabnzbdplus<ENTER" on the command line. That should start SAB and make the webinterface available again.

Thanks!! a lot better but it is now complaining about an incorrect API key in the command line. (Browser retained all previous data)

Edited the .ini file, entered API and away we go!! YAY!! thanks VERY much. Will it survive a reboot? (Perhaps it had to do with Chrome 'crashing' rather than stopping when I hit reboot?)

If you only start it from the commandline with 'sabnzbdplus', it will not start automatically after a reboot.

If you want SAB to start automatically, read http://wiki.sabnzbd.org/install-ubuntu-repo :
If you want the program to be started as a service (i.e., in the background on system boot), you will need to edit (as root) the file /etc/default/sabnzbdplus and set the "USER=" to the appropriate setting.
That's it. It's so easy.
