Slow download speed

Post by CeeJay90 »

Hi,

I have bought a new D-Link DNS325 Mediaserver/NAS and installed the fun_plugin and as sabnzbd as well.
On my notebook I have altbinz installed. Now my problem:
On my notebook I am able to download with 5,3 MB/sec via Altbing, but via sabnzbd on my DNS-325 I'm receiving data with 2MB/sec >:( sometimes the speed growes up to 3 or 3,5 MB/sec, butonly for a few seconds.

I have tested my local network connect to the NAS, but I am able to copy data with 55 MB/sec to the NAS, so the network isnt the problem. A 'wget' with ssh also works fine on the NAS with highspeed.

I have configured 10 connections on sabnzbd (same configuration within altbinz).

I would like to get help from you, please make me happy :D

Greetz,
Chris

The NAS has a much less powerful CPU than the PC and SABnzbd
simply requires more horsepower than altbinz.

Your NAS has an ARM processor, which has much less power than a current laptop CPU. As Shypike says, SABnzbd requires CPU power.

If you really want more download speed on your NAS, and are willing to sacrifice usability and features, you could consider installing and using NZBget on your NAS. NZBget is written in C, and requires less CPU power.

SABnzbd: a lot of features, user friendly, requires CPU power
NZBget: less features, requires less CPU power
