Variable speed in different clients?

Post by infernouk »

Hi guys

Just got my usenet setup working, using astraweb as my server,

I tried newsbin and i was hitting 65mb download (my internets current max on a 100mb line, i assume capping)

I switched to SAB as i hear its better and i didnt want to pay for newsbin client pro.

However I am getting reported speed of only 6.2mb/s ub sab on the dial in the queue bar? ETA seems reasonable but i wanted to check im not throttling myself somewhere?

I am using all my connections and am with Virgin media, note i have seen the sticky and made sure i was on the right other and SSL encrypted so i cant see any other problems?

Thanks for any ideas resolving this! is there another way to check speed or something?

edit: thinking about it, am i mixing up bits and bytes? so the 6.2 is actually around 62mb of broadband download? would make sense

Indeed: bits versus Bytes. See http://wiki.sabnzbd.org/faq#toc29
