Sorting/Folder help for a newbie

Post by Dave120281 »

Hi there,

Many apologies if I'm just being dim here or if this information is already in the forums but so far I've been unable to figure it out myself or find a solution in the forums.

What I'm wanting to do is have all completed files (video, music, app, whatever) be placed in one specific folder; 'C:\Downloads' for example as opposed to individual folders for each file such as 'C:\Downloads\Show Name 1x01 - Episode Name'

Also, would it be possible to apply sorting but then put the completed files in the one specific folder?

To clarify, if I downloaded two episodes of a TV show in .avi format I would end up with 'C:\Downloads\Show Name 1x01 - Episode Name.avi' and 'C:\Downloads\Show Name 1x02 - Episode Name.avi' instead of 'C:\Downloads\Show Name 1x01 - Episode Name\Show Name 1x01 - Episode Name.avi' and 'C:\Downloads\Show Name 1x02 - Episode Name\Show Name 1x02 - Episode Name.avi'

Again, apologies if I've missed this elsewhere or have made something simple sound incredibly complicated.

Many thanks in advance,

Dave.

Use the proper sort expression.
There are a number of preset buttons and a previe box
to check the result.

Hi shypike,

Thanks for that.

I think I'm just being dim here as so far I've been able to get all the downloaded files including .nfo .nzb to go directly into my specified folder using sorting expressions. I see there is an option to delete specified files in Cleanup List so that has helped. Is there some way to be able to get my target file (.avi etc) to go to my specified folder then to have the other files such as .nfo, .nzb etc to be saved in a separate folder within my specified folder?

Thanks,

Dave.

No, you would have to write your own "user script" for that.
