Hi guys,
I'm somewhat of a beginner with this thing, but this is the first time I've had significant problems.
I've restarted, I've repaired, I've deleted the queue, etc.
I have one file that's half downloaded, but even when I put in other NZB's, nothing works.
This all started because I'm traveling, but it doesn't work on any of the many wifi networks I've used while abroad. Can someone help me diagnose and fix this please?
MacBook Pro Retina
OSX Lion

I wouldn't be surprised if those WiFi networks block NNTP traffic.
Have you tried "Test Server" in Config->Servers?

Failed to connect - does this mean I'm being blocked by all of these networks? Seems very unlikely...

Yes.entreprenewer wrote:Failed to connect - does this mean I'm being blocked by all of these networks?
Often hotspots and company networks only allow HTTP and HTTPS to the outside world. So not NNTP.entreprenewer wrote: Seems very unlikely...
To circumvent this, you could use a newsprovider that accepts NNTP-connections over HTTP or HHTPS ports: 80 and 443.
EDIT:
Easy to verify the above:
In SABnzbd add a Server:
newsreader.eweka.nl
port 443
SSL should be on
... and then click "Test Server". It should say "Server requires username and password.", meaning the connection was made. So, if that works for you on your Wifi networks, and the normal newsserver connection does not, it is the proof of the above.

Just as you suspected. Must be the hotspots. Thanks very very much!
