processing downloaded movies the same as tv

Post by charlesdem »

Hi Everyone -
I'm a newbie and have a couple of tehnical questions. I have followed the guide on applemediacenter.com and have SABnzbd+ and sickbeard and couch potato all running nicely. I love the way sickbeard will rename TV shows and put them in their respective season folders. Right now I have movies downloading through SABnzbd to my default downloads folder, which in my case is <username>/Downloads/Usenet. Is there a way to get SABnzbd to move just the movie after it's downloaded to my movies folder on my external drive? The only way I can think to do it is have the Movie folder be the default download folder, since the TV shows automatically get renamed and moved, so all I would be left with are the completed movie downloads. But is there a nicer cleaner way of doing this, the way SickBeard does?

thanks in advance.
Charles.

Use categories.
I assume you already have one for SickBeard.
Assuming SB uses the TV category, set a different path for the "Default" catagory.

thank you so much. I didn't know there was a section to assign a different folder for the default category. *edit: I found a space for adding a folder path, so I added my external volume there. Does it then move everything from the "completed" folder it downloaded to?
I have tv going to a script, as illustrated in the tutorial on applemediacenter.com.
I was trying to use the renaming options in couch potato but that doesn't seem to work

ideally I'd like all the extra files stripped and just the movie file put in the movies folder. Possible?

update: I've got the movies copying to where I want them, but is there a way to have the movies renamed the way TV shows are automatically renamed? And all the other files deleted that I don't need?

Yes, go to Config->Sort, Generic.

thanks - I never saw this. I apologize. By "generic" do you mean to just enable sorting for the Movies category and then change nothing else?

one last question - should I then disable the renaming option in Couch Potato? It doesn't seem to work anyway...

and, I just did a test with that enabled, as you suggested and there was no difference with the results. I did a test with a movie and it copied the whole folder, with all the subtitle info and various other files, as well as the movie in 2 parts. Is there something else I'm missing?

I know nothing about CouchPotato.

You have to enable the wanted categories (yes, even a "Default" category) in Generic Sort and
then enter a Sort expression that tells SABnzbd how to organize the downloads.

Forgive all the questions - I'm totally new at this.
I don't have the TV sort enabled because I like the way it's being handled by Sickbeard. All I want is for the movie downloads to be handled the way the TV ones are. Can you give me an example of a sort string? Just so the movie will have its name and extension?
This is what my categories look like now:
Category Priority Processing Script Folder/Path Groups
Default(Greyed out) Normal +Delete None
Movies Normal Default default /Volumes/Public/Shared Music/Movies
tv Normal Default sabToSickBeard.py

thanks so much for your help.

Sorry, I don't have the time to explain things to each individual user.
We have a Wiki site (Sorting discussed here: http://wiki.sabnzbd.org/configure-sorting-0-7 )
and don't be afraid of a little experimenting.

ok, I appreciate it. Honestly. I got the movie renaming working by updating to CouchPotatoServer and it all works great now. Even got a muxing tool for joining split movie files.

thanks for all your help.
