I have sabnzbd installed on my Synology NAS along with couchpotato, sickbeard, headphones. Everything works well, but when I check the warning logs it says the following:
Cannot change permissions of /volume1/Movies/_UNPACK_We Bought a Zoo 2011 720p BluRay DTS x264 HiDt/.DS_Store
Does this have any sort of effect on anything or is it something that can be ignored? I'm not sure exactly what sabnzbd is trying to do here?

Re: Cannot change permissions of …
Let me guess, you're using a Mac?
Several NAS systems bend over backwards to please Macs
and create files and folders that have all sorts of nasty "special" behaviour.
I'll look into this.
For now you can ignore it.
BTW SAbnzbd is trying to adjust file permissions because you told it so.

Re: Cannot change permissions of …
Yes, my home network is all comprised of all macs, ipads, iphones, appletv... so is this something I can avoid or will it end up messing my setup?
Re: Cannot change permissions of …
Don't let SABnzbd change permissions if you don't have to.
But maybe you do need it.
The problem likely occurs only when you let SABnzbd
write to existing foders.

Re: Cannot change permissions of …
under config > folders, it says:
Permissions for completed downloads: 777
But oddly with those warnings, everything seems to work as it should. is it trying to change the permission of the .DStore file only? if so, it shouldn't be affect anything then right?

Re: Cannot change permissions of …
It's trying to change permissions on all files from the last download,
only the NAS doesn't allow it to do that for the .DStore files.
