I can seem to figure out how to set a specific category to rss feeds. The web GUI does not have this option but the ini file does, I tried to set it here with no success.
thanks

Re: RSS feeds set Category
Look closer, the RSS page does have this option.
You do have to define Categories first in Config->Categories.

Re: RSS feeds set Category
Is the feed a newzbin feed? If so the category should be added automatically.
Re: RSS feeds set Category
Currently newzbin feeds inherit the category that the downloaded item has on newzbin. I'm not sure how easy/hard it will be to add the ability to override this function.
Re: RSS feeds set Category
On the RSS configure page I only have options to set job options and post script no option for category.
I set the cat variable in the ini file... i see my issue was a typo for that field lets see if it works now.
Thanks for the help.

Re: RSS feeds set Category
I got confused myself.
For newzbin feeds, the newzbin categories are automatically used.
For any other feed you can set the categories yourself.
The Config->Categories page allows you to map newzbin categories to your own categories.
See the Wiki page on this (click Help in Config->Categories).

Re: RSS feeds set Category
I don't think the mapping of newzbin cats in the category page will help him too much.
I'm guessing he wants a specific newzbin feed to go a category like "HD Movies" for example. Would require displaying the category for newzbin RSS feeds, and as I said, I'm not too sure how easy it would be to add into our current code.

Re: RSS feeds set Category
So if you download from newzbin via rss it will always use the newzbin categories. I guess I will just have it move the file with a post-processing script.

Re: RSS feeds set Category
I think the newzbin feeds should show the category selection too, so you can override.
Filed as ticket #135, I think we can add this for 0.4.5

Re: RSS feeds set Category
nikorc thanks for bringing this up, I was trying to do this exact thing this morning and it makes a lot of sense to download to a network share for a specific category or whatever if that's where your shows go.
Much thanks to shypike as well for making a ticket, I hope this is an added feature as it would greatly help me out.
Keep up the good work guys this application is AWESOME.
