Connection speed help

Post by ceet12 »

Hello
hope someone can advise or help me here.

i have recently switched over from newleecher and im loving the program,
ive hit a bit of a stump tho, it has been running great 6mbs constant for a good 2 weeks when ive needed to download, but the last few days the speed has been temperamental really up and down and hovering around 3mbs

this is outside peak hours when my isp doesnt throtle, i have also run speedtests and they reports im getting full speed, as a backup i have ran neewleecher again, and that is running at 6mbps, so im a bit confused really why there is a decrease

im running wired via ethernet

one thing i will add is on the machine i run sab, im also running couchpotato, and sickbeard this machine will be used for a htpc, its an acer revo rl70 4gb ram

i did think it could be a bottle nec with things extracting and downloading as there not the fastest machines, but even when nothing is running in the background the speed is still spiking and not consistent

also nothing else is running on the machine and the exact same server setup is in putted in sab as it is newsleecher

id appreciate any help atall, maybe in getting the speeds back and more consistant

Also im on virgin media. Using ssl 444 on both sab and newsleecher with ten connrctions. The only difference with sab being browser based. And it is on port 8080. Router port i think. Does this make a difference and would changing this do anything.??

Did you set an article cache in Config->General.
Try something like 200M
It will reduce the disk access considerably.
Not sure if this is the cause, but it's worth a try.
