Update : Despite what their support people told me, it WAS Newsdemon. Opened an account with another provider and working fine now.
(All the MB/s [megabytes] and Mb/s [megabits] are correct)
A few days ago, all my downloads in Sab started running at around 1.1 MB/s. Normally I get 10-12 MB/s
- I have a 100 Mb/s internet connection.
- Sab usually downloads up to a max of about 10-12 MB/s
- Now the downloads all run at 1.1 - 1.3 MB/s
- Sab is on Windows 7.
- This started a little while after I upgraded SAB to 0.7.0Beta6.
- I have completely uninstalled and reinstalled SAB: both 0.7.0B6 as well as 0.6.15(what I am currently running)
- No firewall
- CPU and Memory aren't maxed out.
- I am using Newsdemon (unlimited full speed account and 50 connections).
- I checked with their support and
- I have tried different Article Cache sizes from 50M to 1024M, (as well as no article cache) with no difference.
- I have tried different servers: Different US servers, European servers, SSL and Non-SSL servers.
- I have tried different numbers of server connections between 5 and 50.
- Torrents and regular web downloads are not experiencing this slowdown.
- I tried another NZB downloader and it was connecting at regular (7-10MB/s) speeds
- The computer is wired directly to the Modem/Router Gateway.
- The ethernet network connection is connected at Gigabit speeds to the gateway.
- There isn't a speed limit set in SAB. I even set and then removed the limit to make sure it was cleared out. I also verified in the sabnzbd.ini config file that there is no limit.
I am lost as to what is causing this slowdown. And honestly, I'm about ready to reformat and reinstall windows just to see if it fixes the problem. Any insight or help would be much appreciated.

- I just installed SAB (0.7.0B6) on my laptop (windows 8, WIFI connection) and it is having the same issue with downloading between 1.1-1.3 MB/s
- I have tried different ports on all the servers.
- ** I have also tried connecting through a VPN (VPNReactor) and still get the same results.

Check your connection in Status and Interface settings window.
Use Test Server in Config > Servers.
We will probably ask you to do a test using only basic settings. - Do you experience problems during repair or unpacking?
Enable +Debug logging in the Status and Interface settings window and share the relevant parts of the log here using [ code ] sections.

Have you tried an alternative Usenet program, e.g. Grabit?
