My download speed is 4b/s?

Post by pk7677 »

My sabnzbd's speed kept jumping from 300kb to 4b/s which is pretty big jump, and it does it constantly. Before I was getting 1mb/2mb per second just fine, but ever since I reinstalled this is happening none stop. Another thing is that if a file reach 99% the download speed would drop to non existence and stop downloading all together. Can some one help me?

A bit more details about your setup would be useful.
Operating system? Article cache? Usenet provider?
Define re-install. Did you need to go through the setup wizard again?

Windows 7 64bit, 2500k 4.0ghz, 16GB RAM.

Article cache limited is set to 128M

Usernet provider is Astraweb

When I reinstalled I did indeed need to go through the setup wizard again.

How old is the post?
I get very uneven results with Astraweb myself. One day it's great, one day it's not.
But it could also be that the post is just too old.
The latter results in a low "speed".
If you hover the mouse over the item in the queue, you can how many articles are already missing.
If the number keeps going up each time you hover over again, the post is too old.

The post is only 300 days old, the problem is that my speed decreases from 1.2 mb/s to almost none existent download speed, the longer it downloads the files the slower the speed it gets. Why is that?

Possible causes:
- ISP throttling News/NNTP connection
- bad wireless connection and/or modem/router
- bad Newsprovider
- (starting with 0.7.x:) pre-download check being done

Anyway: what happens when you use another news download program (grabit, nzbget) with the same setting and same NZB?

My internet provider is known for throttling bit torrent connections, but I'm not sure about nntp connections. Nothing wrong with the modem as far as i can tell. If I use another news program with the same setting I download fine except when I reach 90 ish percent then the download speed would drop to 0. Any ways this problem come and goes, now its fine.
