    Check your connection in Status and Interface settings window.
    Use Test Server in Config > Servers.

    Enable +Debug logging in the Status and Interface settings window and share the relevant parts of the log here using [ code ] sections.

Getting rid of undesired files

Is there someway to automatically delete undesired files which has been fetched? (such as .sfv files or .srr files)

See Config->General.
There's a field where you can enter a list of comma-separated extensions.
E.g.: nfo, srr
