Hey, so I've been dealing more and more with Usenet (LOVE SABnzbd+, by the way--for power-internet users like myself (by which I only mean people who constantly have their browser open with a shit ton of windows open and doing thing) webinterface apps are awesome (plus it's so nice to deal with on my server too).
That all said, I have to say I still don't really understand way too many things about how all this Usenet stuff works.
I've been checking out some of the NZB files with Textmate; but haven't been able to get a handle on what is going on where, and I can't figure out what (if anything) I could add.
My biggest problem with...well, all filesharing, is that it's such an unorganized mess.
The NZB I'm generating from one of these indexes (or downloading from one of those pre-groups sites) has information that tells SABnzbd+ where to find files located on Usenet servers.
SABnzbd+ can rename files after I've downloaded it, and with Sickbeard I can even get it to rename with Episode Names (although I'm currently on CentOS, so that's not even actually an option at the moment). Is there something I could change within the NZB files that would essentially change the name of the file?
Since I started filesharing I've dabbled in various codes; but recently I've actually gotten a book to start working on actually learning Python (when school isn't completely fucking me) I'm thinking about attempting to work on some NZB (and links, if anything comes out halfway decent for non cashwhores after this MegaUpload mess). Hoping I could get episodes/seasons with all the right formatting and stuff "SHOW_NAME S##E## EPISODE_NAME QUALITY AUDIO_FORMAT VIDEO_FORMAT GROUP_NAME.ext" But can't figure out what to edit/add.

Re: What Information Comes from the NFO?
There's nothing in the nzb that determines actual filenames, just early info.
Filenames come from the actual articles.
Also par2 requires the correct names, otherwise it will just restore original names.
Lastly, most posts consist of rar files that have filenames in them.
