RSS feeds not adding items to the queue without restarting

Greetings.

Ive been having this problem for a while, possibly since i did the last update to 0.6.15 (Windows 7 x64)

Intermittently, items from my RSS feed do not appear in the queue, i see a warning message about a duplicate nzb, ie. "2012-02-28 15:08:42,927 WARNING: Ignoring duplicate NZB "Hawaii.... etc etc""
yet in the queue, i dont see the original of that supposed duplicate. I do have it set to not download duplicates.

If i then restart SABNZbd, those missing items from the feed are immediatly back in the queue as normal.

I thought maybe it was to do with using RSS feeds from nzbmatrix, so i created some new ones from another site, but im having the exact same issue.

So my question is, why do i have to restart SABNZBD to see the actual contents of the queue sometimes?

Im using the SABman app and also the SABconnect++ Chome App.

I never see this issue when i manually add nzbs or send them using SABconnect, only ever on RSS feeds.

You don't have to restart SABnzbd to see the queue, refresh is sufficient.
What's your refresh rate? (Options menu, top right).
The original of a duplicates isn't necessarily in the queue any more.
The RSS module remembers what iut sent to the queue in the past.
Titles are checked across RSS feeds.
Also, if you have an nzb backup folder set, this will be used for duplicate checking too.

its 8 seconds, refreshing doesnt solve the this issue, the queue is empty until its restarted, which is my issue when this intermittently happens - usually once a day
sabman also shows the queue is empty until sanbzbd restarts, can view sabnzbd from any network PC, queue is empty (until a restart)

I am using the nzb backup folder, which works as expected, the nzb for the item "stuck" in queue limbo is always in the backup.

Cannot answer this, your issue is fairly unique.
So maybe you should wait for the first 0.7.0 Beta, where quite a bit has changed in the queue handling.

i thought id update this thread incase something else has the same issue

after trying many different setups/feeds/settings etc, i was able to fix this RSS issue im having by turning off the detect duplicate download feature and removing the backup nzb dir.

However, i did see this happen again when i added a nzb to the watch folder, the file was removed from the watch folder as normal, but nothing appeared in the queue. I restarted sanbznd and it then showed in the queue, (and had
already downloaded most of the file).

Ah well.

I fixed this issue and some others i was having, ( losing my sabnzbd.ini as well as above )

when i looked at the log it seems some things were logged twice, in particilar when it backed up the ini file, it was always duplicate enteries for it etc.

It seems i had 2 copies of sabnzbd running at the time somehow, probably because it auto started itself, but had also put the shortcut for it it in my startup folder.

Once i removed the shortcut from the startup folder, all my issues went away.

Looks like a plausible cause.
A second instance of SABnzbd will detect a running one and just show you the web UI
of the first instance and terminate after that.
If two instances are started almost simultaneously, the detection will fail and both instances will run.

yep that does seem likely in my scenario, the machine i have sabnzbd on is a 8 Core / 16GB Ram / Fast SSD system, the boot process is extremely quick.
