Hi board members, newbie to this software and on a learning curve.
I've installed the latest version SABnzbd Version: 0.6.15 | smpl Version: 1.3 and chose to run it from the .app rather than from sources.
It opens in Safari and appears to be ok. In Config/Server/ my news.astraweb.com gets a tick of connection working
But in the general interface there is no news feed.
What am I doing wrong? Shouldn't I be seeing a long list of newsgroups from which I can download binaries etc.
I used Astraweb many years ago and am familiar with building files with par and hjsplit utilities and am eager to get back into this fun pleasure.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers, Mal

Re: Installation on a Mac with Lion
You have to feed a .nzb-file to SABnzbd. As a start, get a .nzb from http://binsearch.info/ ...

Re: Installation on a Mac with Lion
Thx sander. So I went to your url and searched for *.nzb
Got a heap of returns.
What do I do now - save one of them I guess and return to SABnzbd
What's the next step... ?
Really appreciate your help, Mal

On binsearch.info type a search term of something you like. You will then get a probably a lot of results. Check the one you like, and click on the button Create Nzb. That will download a .nzb file of about 1 MB. Then go to the SABnzbd webinterface and click on "Add NZB" to feed that .nzb file to SABnzbd. SABnzbd will then start downloading.malfromcessnock wrote:Thx sander. So I went to your url and searched for *.nzb

Here's an example you can try: https://www.binsearch.info/?q=Ubuntu.De ... 00&server=
If that works, you can dive into easier ways to find .NZB files:
http://wiki.sabnzbd.org/usage
http://wiki.sabnzbd.org/nzb-sources
You *could* try to use the Dutch site http://spotplanet.org/ ... NZB's are on the far right side ... click on the arrow-pointing-down on the right to get the NZB. It's that easy!
