This is the first time ive encountered it
i was downloading [redacted]
SABnzbd said that 6 articles were malformed, then it immediately showed that it needed 19471 blocks more (the whole thing is like 112000 blocks!) , it downloaded all par2 files then it failed to repair, then started SFV check and showed "verifying 205/205"
At the end nothing happened. All failed
QuickPar needed only 5 blocks to repair 6 articles.
To repair 6 articles sab needs 19471 blocks:QuickPar is OK

I don't like the subject line of that post, with the file number in (nnn/nnn) format followed by "yEnc" followed by the segment number. Maybe SABnzbd got confused by the subject line. The 6 malformed articles were caused by an old buggy version of JBinUp posting software.

Nothing wrong with the NZB.
I'll have a look at it when I have some time, but I'm not in the habit of doing 42G downloads just for "a quick look".
Which OS are you using and which SABnzbd version?

Found out what's wrong: the poster is an idiot.
The names of the downloaded files are not the same as the expected files.
It's supposed to work like this:
- par2 sees all files are missing
- it uses the downloaded files as repair blocks (and the par2 files also)
- it reconstructs the expected files from the downloaded files and the par2 files
This is a very inefficient way of doing things, because you need double the disk space
and it's very time consuming.
SABnzbd doesn't support this, because it would slow down all other repair jobs.
We are looking at implementing a proper solution for this in release 0.7.0
