Moving to a new server

Post by flyfishin4trout »

I run ubuntu 11.10 and just recently inherited a nice dell server that runs vmware esxi 5.0 very nicely. So i am moving my existing linux box over there. I dont want to do a convert because id like to switch to the ltr release of ubunutu. So my question is how do I move my existing installation over to the new box. I was just thinking that i need to install the package then rsync the config folder over to the new box and done. Let me know if I am way off here. Great boards. Thanks

"how do I move my existing installation": Assuming you mean SABnzbd on a fresh Ubuntu, you could do this:
First a plain install of the package sabnzbdplus on your new machine
Then copy everything in ~/.sabnzbd/ and possibly /etc/default/sabnzbdplus (if you changed it) on the old machine to the new machine
