Sabnzbd won't start on my Mac, first time user

I have an imac 10.4.11, and downloaded the Sabnzbd just a few moments ago for the first time. It downloaded and installed fine, but when I double click the icon, it opens, though nothing happens.

I do not have a Usenet account and have not paid any money anywhere. The last time I paid Usenet (and the only time) my credit card was compromised. I say Usenet because as far as I knew, Sabnzbd was a way for Mac Users to use Usenet. I don't want to pay Usenet but to use Sabnzbd as a means to find information, like on Usenet (or even through Usenet, if that is possible.)

As well, Usenet doesn't seem to have any of the authors I need, such that when I perform searches for them, none of them are every found. When I used it (about six months ago) it seemed more like an ancient way to get free music, if to comment on the nature of most of the information found there.

Please help if you know of anyway to use Usenet without needing to pay them. I find that they are usually a waste of time, but since I did only use it once, maybe I am wrong.

Is Sabnzbd not the best way to go? If it is, how do I get it to open?

You downloaded the wrong DMG file. There's one for SnowLeopard/Lion (the default)
and one for Leopard (and older).
