Unable to usen SABnzbd due to password/username

I am not very smart with computers. I have heard how excellent the program is. I installed SABnzbd and used the smart wizard. After entering my API key I tried to go to the next page, but it keeps asking for a username and password. I tried all the usernames and passwords I have, but none of them work. I had a look on the forums and most of them advise to go to the .ini file - I am unable to local this on my hard drive. Is there another way of getting around this.

Which API key?
Your not supposed to enter a SABnzbd apikey.
If your using Windows.
Use the task manager to stop the SABnzbd process.
Click the Windows Start button and type
SABnzbd - Safe mode
When you see the item appear in the search area, click it.
