NZB Matrix and Duplicate NZB downloads.

So I new to this program. I having issues with NZB Matrix and sabnzbd and duplicate downloads. I use Outlook 2010 to manage all my RSS feeds. When I click on a feed and then it takes me to NZBMatrix. I click on download NZB, it asks me to open it with sabnzbd, and it starts in sabnzbd.

But then it appears twice in the download queue. If I don't delete it, it downloads it twice. Can you please tell me what I can do to correct it.

Detect Duplicate Downloads is set for DISCARD.

Do you download the NZB to the watched folder?
Did you associate NZB files with SABnzbd during the program's installation?

Yes and Yes.

That might explain the duplicate downloads.
So either "execute" NZB files so that the OS sends then to SABnzbd
or save NZBs to the watched folder, but not both.
What is the exact sequence you use when getting an NZB from an indexing site?

1) I click on the link in my RSS feed in Outlook.
2) It opens the article in Firefox at NZBMatrix.com
3) I click on "Download NZB"
4) Firefox asks me to "open it with sabnzbd" or save. I have tried both, although I prefer to use the open link. Both get same results.
5) sabnzb then shows two entries of the nzb i'm downloading.

don't open tha NZB. that will just send it SABnzbd again. Just save the NZB to your watched folder and SABnzbd will do the rest. you can set the watched folder interval check time as well. i believe the default is 30 seconds but i have mine set to 15

Thats to much of a pain. I use my browser to download a lot of stuff and changing the directory all the time of where to save the file is a hassle. Plus last time I tried doing it that way I still got duplicate downloads. No difference.

If there is no way around this problem, that is fine. I can just keep delete the duplicate before it downloads them both.

Why have a watched folder at all?
Just clear the field.

Do you have some browser add-on that also deals with SABnzbd?
BTW: the duplicate download detection will only work if your have also set a backup folder
for NZB files in Config->Folders.

That was it! nzbdstatus was installed in firefox. I am not sure where it came from as I don't remember installing it. But I disabled it, and I only get one download.

I found this happened when I set Config > Folders > Watched Folder Scan Speed to 2. I changed it up to 5, and the duplicates stopped appearing.

Probably also only in combination with something like nzbStatus.
It's likely to be a race-condition where nzbStatus temporarily stores the NZB in the watched folder.
It makes sense that using a 5 sec interval will reduce the problem.
