A newbie here. Tried to seek help on the chat, but was directed here. Trying to setup SAB for the 1st time, but after repeated setups, keep getting the error
"API Key incorrect, Use the api key from Config->General in your 3rd party program:" Now, I have a NZBMatrix VIP membership and I used the API key during the setup. Not sure what I am missing.
Tried to generate the API key in SAB, Save and restart, but no luck. Any help will be appreciated.

Check your connection in Status and Interface settings window.
Use Test Server in Config > Servers.
We will probably ask you to do a test using only basic settings. - Do you experience problems during repair or unpacking?
Enable +Debug logging in the Status and Interface settings window and share the relevant parts of the log here using [ code ] sections.

SABnzbd has its own apikey (complex security thing, won't explain that now).
This is quite separate from the nzbmatrix apikey, despite the identical name.
It looks like you have some third party tool that wants to communicate with SABnzbd.
That tool needs the apikey listed in Config->General.
The nzbmatrix apikey needs to be filled in on Config->Indexers.
