Hi all, when I enter the server details and hit add, I get the following message:
Incorrect parameter
Server address "news.giganews.com:119" is not valid.
Any ideas?

Re: Incorrect parameter: Server address is not valid.
When adding a server, sabnzbd quickly checks if your machine can connect to that address, and it looks like in this case it failed.
Can you ping news.giganews.com?

Re: Incorrect parameter: Server address is not valid.
Did you fill in "news.giganews.com:119" in the server field?
The server field should say: "news.giganews.com".
The port field should say: "119".
(Without the quotes of course!)

Re: Incorrect parameter: Server address is not valid.
I reinstalled sab after an OS reinstall, copied the .ini file, attempted to tick SSL (have this now since the OS reinstall) and get that error when clicking save.
So reinsalled sab, (after uninstalling and deleting the sab folder from program files) and started without the old ini.
STILL get the same error!?!
Have entered it several times, no spaces etc.. very odd.
Any Idea?

Re: Incorrect parameter: Server address is not valid.
Problem solved - restarted the server - does sab check for a alive news server before commiting to the settings?
Cheers for the support!

Re: Incorrect parameter: Server address is not valid.
I've been having this problem heaps lately with Astraweb.
Often, once the NZB is added, Sab just sits there not doing anything. If I check the status section I see something like:
# Connections: Failed to connect: (10060, "(11004, 'getaddrinfo failed')") 5@ssl-eu.astraweb.com:563
If I attempt to edit the server info, I get the same message as the OP. Eventually, if left long enough, it comes good.
I've no idea if this is a problem at my end or at Astraweb. Things have been fine for a couple of years though....

Re: Incorrect parameter: Server address is not valid.
The getaddrinfo error indicates a dns problem, that also explains why the program thinks the server address is invalid.simonk83 wrote:'getaddrinfo failed')") 5@ssl-eu.astraweb.com:563

Re: Incorrect parameter: Server address is not valid.
I think it might be an issue with my router (either that or my ISP). I've rebooted the router and it seems OK now. If it happens again I'll try changing my primary and secondary DNS to see if that helps.
