Reduce the priority of downloads?

Post by thegman222 »

Version: 0.6.8
OS: Win 7 x64
Install-type:Windows Installer
Skin (if applicable):Default
Firewall Software: Windows firewall
Are you using IPV6? no idea
Is the issue reproducible? yes

Hi all, While downloading, sabnzbd hogs all my internet bandwidth so my other internet activities are very slow, ie normal browsing. Is it possible for me to reduce the internet priority of sabnzbd so that only use 'spare' bandwidth?

Two ways.
Set a speed limit in SABnzbd itself (Config->General).
Tell your router (if it supports that) to treat NNTP traffic (or port 119) as low priority traffic.

... or use a "traffic shaper" on your Windows machine. I have not tested it, but maybe this works for you: http://bandwidthcontroller.com/
