Possible to automatically delete files instead of pausing?

I already googled a bunch, and I checked the forums. By the way, the mods and admins are simply amazing here, no trolls and everyone is so helpful.
I am using sab and sickbeard on an ubuntu box and everything is running flawlessly except that I keep running out of space. I am using the post processing for sickbeard, so in the sab web interface, if I click on delete, the option to delete the actual flies is not available. I am connecting via SMB to a couple XBMC boxes around the house. I don't have an option to delete the files from them, and from what I hear, the option isn't easily available (plus, I don't want to leave deletion of files up to people in my house).

I figured there are a couple options if a solution doesn't already exist. Since my shows are in folders, I can make a script and run it every hour to only retain the past X number of episodes. I could also make a script to check the size of each folder, and start deleting episodes once they hit a certain amount. I'm not sure what the best solution is here, but I guess someone has already approached this.

I think I may have solved my answer, if only temporarily. I don't believe this is a sickbeard issue since its not really doing anything. You can delete files in xbmc http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?t=94055. Ultimately, I need to be able to delete files automatically, which may be an OS independent issue. I'll keep posted.
