Can't get to my Queue

Post by SmllTwnTheory »

I recently bought a new Router... a Netgear N600. I got everything hooked up and everything is running smoothly except I discovered after that I couldnt get to my queue.. I get this message

"SABnzbd.py 0.6.6Beta2

SABnzbd needs a free tcp/ip port for its internal web server.
Port 8083 on localhost was tried , but it is not available.
Some other software uses the port or SABnzbd is already running.

Please restart SABnzbd with a different port number.

Open a Terminal window and type the line (example):
/Applications/SABnzbd.app/Contents/MacOS/SABnzbd --server localhost:8084

If you get this error message again, please try a different number."

Now I tried this Pre and Post Beta and Get the same message just with the next port number down the line.. I've resatarted several times and I think Lion is keeping the program open but I cant be sure.. I quit the process in Activity monitor as well.. Please help.

Program did not start!

Aha. What have you filled out at SABnzbd Host (see Config -> General, or http://localhost:8080/config/general/ )?

I have localhost and 8080...
I also just tried 0.0.0.0 and different ports no luck... Im positive its my new router everything works fine when im connected straight to the modem...

Also I have tried three version from .4 up to the Lion Beta .6

You use Mac, right?

If so, in the file ~/Library/Application Support/SABnzbd/sabnzbd.ini, what does the first line with "host =" tell you?

'local host' (with a space), or 'localhost'?

Hmmm. You've already checked there is no instance of SABnzbd already running. You're on Mac, so you haven't got a firewall on your system, right?

Then I'm out of ideas. Sorry.

yeah no firewall and theres no other instances running what I did find out is that in the router setup, remote managment originally used port 8080... I turned it off and also changed the port number on SAB and my router and still no luck... I really really want to figure this out... any ideas after telling you that?

Try 127.0.0.1 instead of localhost.
In some situations localhost can be completely screwed up.
