Unable to set download folder to my FreeNAS server

I'm currently running SABnzbd+ on my main Windows 7 machine, and I also have a storage server running FreeNAS. I would like my download folders to be on the storage server, but I somehow can't get this to work. I have mapped the FreeNAS share as a network drive on my Windows 7 PC, and i can write to it in Windows Explorer. However, when i try to set the download folders in SABnzbd+, I get the error message "Incorrect parameter - Cannot create complete_dir folder D:\Downloads " Any suggestions? Do you think this is a FreeNAS issue or a SABnzbd+ issue?

Are the external drives mounted when SABnzbd start up?
Does SABnzbd run under the normal user account (or as a service)?
Try the UNC path: \\server\sharename\Downloads
