Noob needs help with RSS feeds (Mac OS X)

Post by henryz45 »

Sorry if this question has been answered before, but I couldn't find it.
I am having issues with the RSS feeds.

I have chosen to use NZBindex.nl for my feeds.
(http://www.nzbindex.nl/rss/alt.binaries ... =25&more=1).
The only problem is that sabnzbd won't automatically download from these feeds. It will show me all the matches but won't download them. I have tried other feeds with the same effect except for binsearch.info and when it does download from binsearch all 50 results start to download.
I know I can set filters, but they are not as precise as I would like them to be. (like file size)
Thank you for your help. :)

Version:0.6.5
OS: OSX snow Leopard
Install-type: OS X app
Firewall Software: OS X firewall
Are you using IPV6? no
Is the issue reproducible? yes

What do you mean with "won't download them"?
Have you looked at the RSS preview page (click on the job name)?
Are the jobs marked with a * ?
That means they won't be automatically downloaded.
The first batch of a feed is never downloaded automatically
but only when you click "Force download" or the download button in front of the item.
Subsequent new items read when the feed is automatically read, will be downloaded.
That is when you enable the feed for automatic downloading (find the "Enabled" checkbox).

BTW: make sure you have duplicate detection on (Config->Switches).
Sites like nzbindex.nl create unique NZB URLs each time you read out the feed.
This will make SABnzbd think there's new jobs every time.

Thank you for your response.
I understand that automatic downloading won't start until the feeds are read by sabnzbd, but I have had my feeds setup for a couple of days, and the RSS Checking Interval is set to 60 minutes, all of the feeds are enabled, but I have realized that all of them have a * in the skip column. Is this a problem?
I have already setup for duplicate downloads.

Auto downloading occurs only for any *new* items in an RSS feed
and only when read by the scheduler.
Nothing will happen until there are actual new items.
BTW: manual refreshes and preview will prevent auto-download.
The reason is that when you are reviewing your filters, it wouldn't
be nice if suddenly items start downloading.
You can always click on individual items or click "Force download".
