Hi all,
I'm new to newsgroups, however I spent some time reading the user-manual and FAQ but can't seem to get things working properly.
0.6.2
Windows 7 64-bit
Astraweb
NZBmatrix
When I download a file the Temporary Folder and the Completed Download Folder options under "Folders" work, however I can't make anything sort properly.
Temp = z:\nzbtemp
Completed = z:\downloads
The two categories I have setup are
Movies , default, default , Z:\movies, "movies, dvd, hd"
TV, default, default, z:\tv shows\, "TV,tv"
Those are the values for each column in the "categories" section of the config area. I've changed the settings in the "sorting" section a few times but can't seem to get anything work to the point where a downloaded file actually overrides the "completed" folder rule. Any help?
Let me know if I need to take screen shots or if anything I posted above wasn't clear.

Re: Files not moving / sorting properly
Do NZB files get a category when they enter the queue?
Did you set the categories in Config->Sort? For each Sort type you need to enable categories.
The last column will not magically assign categories to NZBs.
The expressions there either need to match Usenet groups in the NZB
or match categories used by nzbmatrix.com or newzbin.com.
So, I would expect something like alt.bin*.boneless (Usenet group)
or tv.dvd (nzbmatrix category).

Re: Files not moving / sorting properly
Interestingly enough, the files are not being assigned a category when queued up. I just now realized that I'm able to set a category for them, but obviously I want that to happen automatically. How can I find the exact proper name to put under "categories" to match NZBmatrix? would "TV: HD" be proper?
Re: Files not moving / sorting properly
Here's what SABnzbd supports for nzbmatrix (end of the long page).
http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~sabnzbd/sa ... grabber.py
You can use wildcards, like "tv:*" which will match all types of TV.
A longer example:
apps.linux, apps.other

Awesome - Thanks for your help. I'll try to pay it forward once I become a bit more familiar with the software.

Re: Files not moving / sorting properly
Hopefully it's ok to continue in this thread...
I'm a new user having similar problem. I have set up Categories to go to a specific subfolder (ex: /Complete/TV Shows/) and in when the download is queued, I set the category. Also, I have the "Enable TV Sorting" checked in "Sorting", with
S01E05 Season Folder preset selected - affected category is TV Shows. How do the 2 configuration options work together? Is it ok to set a folder in Categories and then use a preset in Sorting?
As a specific example, I downloaded "The Colbert Report 2011 06 09 Tom Ridge 720p HDTV x264 MOMENTUM", which is then used for the folder name.

Re: Files not moving / sorting properly
The category folder is a base folder to which the job name is added (as a subfolder).
Some sort settings will make your files land in the category base folder.
It's also possible to set a sort string that includes a full path (starting with d:\ or / ).
In that case the category folder will be ignored.
