I have been using multiple instances of sabnzbd on the same machine for years now and I have just recently upgraded to 0.6.2 and cannot get it to launch multiple instances. I have checked and re-cheked, even re-created all my INI files from scratch. They have different ports, directories, etc... I am using the -f and have tried the -p parameter with sabnzbd-console.exe. When the second instance starts a browser window opens which points to the url of the first instance. Each instance works properly (different ports, dir's, etc) on it's own. I posted this question in IRC but did not get a response before I had to leave the room so I apoligize if "this has been asked before".
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

- Are you using the latest stable version of SABnzbd? Downloads page.

Check your connection in Status and Interface settings window.
Use Test Server in Config > Servers.
We will probably ask you to do a test using only basic settings. - Do you experience problems during repair or unpacking?
Enable +Debug logging in the Status and Interface settings window and share the relevant parts of the log here using [ code ] sections.

Generally people want access to the same instance of SABnzbd,
even if they start the desktop shortcut again.
This feature is also used to let the NZB extension association send an NZB
to the running instance.
This feature has only begun to run reliably (with some caveats) since 0.6.0
The side-effect is that running a second instance is not possible,
at least not without some trickery.
Running two different versions in parallel is possible, because only identical
versions of SABnzbd will communicate.
Since running more than one instance was possible before, I'll add a command line parameter
to 0.6.3 (coming soon) to force a new instance.
BTW: the problem in 0.6.2 with the NZB association you can currently also use as a work-around
