Access SABNZBD on Port 443 within my Network and from the Internet

Post by samir_d »

Hi Guys,
Im really stumped here and hoping someone can help!
Installed SABNZB (v0.61) on my QNAP 219+
I have enabled port forwarding on my router to allow external web incoming requests via https on port 443 (e.g. from work or a friends house) and have enabled HTTP and HTTPS within SABNZBD.

So in SABNZBD i have set HTTP port = 8800 and enabled HTTPS and set port to 443.
My understanding is if i do http://XXX:8800/sabnzbd from my internal network it should connect (No need to setup port forwarding) - But it doesnt :(
And if i try also try https://XXXXX.dyndns-server.com:443/sabnzbd (from work or friends house) it should connect - But it doesnt :(

The only way i can get to http://XXXX:8800/sabnzbd/ is if leave http port to 8800 and disable HTTPS.
Even if i set the http port to anything other than 8800 i cant connect via ttp://XXX:8800/sabnzbd

As a test, I enable port forwarding on port 8800 and i was able to connect via https://XXXXX.dyndns-server.com:8800/sabnzbd but i only want to open port 443 on my router.

Also,
Is setting a password on sabnzbd my only line of defence to sabnzbd on my QNAP?

Please help someone....
